The Apache project is an effort to develop and maintain an open-source HTTP server for various modern desktop and server operating systems, such as UNIX and Windows NT. I ran this for a long time on my Windows box and it worked perfectly. I always bemoaned the lack of a GUI, but once I had it configured, I didn't need to change it much. Besides, GUIs have their own bugs and issues.
