Win7codecs is an audio and video codec package for Windows 7. The installer will automatically remove most other popular codec releases from your computer before installing this concise yet comprehensive package. You won't need to make any adjustments or tweaks to enjoy your media content immediately. Windows Media Player and Media Center will instantly recognize all your files as playable. It does not contain a media player and it does not associate file-types. With this package installed you will be able to use any media player, limited only by the players' capabilities, to play all movies and video clips. Streaming video is supported in several formats in all popular web browsers. Users of the Win7codecs have the ability to choose what is installed and where to install it using the public redistributable. After installation you can select to remove specific portions without removing the entire package. You can also re-add the removed items at any time.

Tried using K Lite for a week, after using Shark's for a year or so. After K Lite wouldn't play several things, it is gone and I reinstalled Shark's codec package.

Interesting concept The package will leave systems bloated with files, GUI's, installers that really are not required. Installs another installer to the system along with a large number of disabled codecs. Then, the other installer enables or disables codecs. At the very same time a toolbar installer is also copied to the system.

Hey, I've used shark's codecs for years but now I've got to find a comparable package as shark is installing the crapware all over your computer regardless of whether you opt out during installation. I think that is rude and I no longer trust his software. It took hours to find and clean that trash out of my files and registry. Goodbye Shark007! Don't know why I trusted a shark anyway!

This needs to put under the catagory of "Malware". Or "System Hijacker".

I like the product, HOWEVER, it installs unwanted junk that is difficult to get rid of AND it doesn't always let you opt out, so for that, it gets a low rating. Just use K-lite. It works just as good or better and you don't get any spyware.

I second that, this should be considered Malware/Too be avoided. Shark007, since he started adding garbage to ALL of his installs is losing all supprt that he once had. His reason is" To make money" but instead of giving the user a choice, he is forcing junk on his users in the sake of "Making money". True, a person should be paid for his work but he is doing things all wrong. Shark007, if your reading this listen up, forcing junk on users is the wrong way to make a living. If i could give this a negative rating then i would.
