FREE!!! Small download. Easy Install, Fast scan of 100Gb Partition. 20mins from installing and running of program to recover 4GB of data. Recovered .txt .jpg .pdf .html OK. Liked how it did not have to be run from bootable media. The Media files it recovered were either unreadable or they were files that were not the ones requested. No status bar to indicate progress of recovery. Would be nice to know if destination drive had sufficent space for recovery. I got what I DID'NT pay for. Luckly the media files I recovered were not important. Was more interested in the non media files I recovered sucessfully. Not sure if the recover process was affected by the 1st attempt at recovery which got stopped because of lack of space on the destination drive. Not sure if you could use this software on a drive/partition that had deleted files it it. Probably best in those cases where the files to be recovered are from the boot drive/partition, to go with an application that boots from media. Overall I am happy with the software, was just lucky that the media files were not important.

Worked fine, but: The files I searched for were there, although the names had changed (?!) , but referring to the date created, I was able to recover them and rename them and use them again! I had to open some of the folder trees a couple of times to get all of the files to appear. So when a folder shows no contents, close it, go up the tree a bit and then reopen the desired folder. Second and sometimes third time is a charm As said below, you get what you DON'T PAY for. so a little patience is required. But chances are, if you are are willing to play a little Sherlock Holmes, you will find what you are looking for. I will recommend this application to all my friends. BTW. so far I haven't experienced any Mal-Spy-or Adware. Although I would run those scans just to be sure.
