Beta 5 out. No ReplayGain scanner changes yet unfortunately. To prevent problems with converting tags between different ID3v2 revisions, foobar2000 will no longer convert ID3v2 tags between 2.3 and 2.4 unless explicitly requested by the user. ID3v2 revision is now reported in the "tagtype" field. MP4 genre now works properly. Source: http://www.hydrogenaudio...w=findpost&p=752236

GREAT SOFTWARE! IMHO, one of the best audio players around.

No, it's not pretty! But that said, this FREE piece of software does everything. For me, that's playing FLACs, APEs, ALACs, Mp3s and being capable of converting any of these formats back-and-forth. It indexes LARGE collections well, understands my Creative card's TOSlink perfectly. If you haven't tried it ~ why not?

foobar2000 is an excellent product. It's light weight, tightly coded, ergonomically logical and efficient, and it's easy to use. It's a pleasure to review foobar2000 (esp. after my review of VLC). Shame others don't take a leaf out of its book. VLC's authors etc, could do well to stat here. Highly recommended.

Best music player out there, period. Handles large music collections fine, only thing I miss is the old school formatting from the older versions.
