Mono is a comprehensive open source development platform based on the .NET framework that allows IT and ISV developers to build Linux and cross-platform applications with unprecedented productivity. Mono's .NET implementation is based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Infrastructure.

For people who have no clue what Mono is, like the author of the previous comment, please do some research first. You can start from the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mono_(software) or read a short intro on Ars Technica: http://arstechnica.com/a...inux/linux-20040715.ars or other articles on Ars: http://arstechnica.com/search.ars?Tag=mono

Very disappointing, but should have been expected from a too-many-dependencies software. Compared with the Microsoft .NET, Mono is twice as large, more memory hungry, more time to load (due to dependencies), and more slower too - although you might not notice it. Unless one only works in Windows environment, there is no need to even try it out.

Simpleeasy to use, controls are easy to get used to. Very Addictve. A bit jumpy sometimes and a bit of a "messy" game. A great simple and easy to use arcade game, the only drawback apart from the above mentioned con is the fact that the game becomes a little bit confusing, with several "baddies" also known as flying circles attacking your ship at once while your shooting bullets in every direction it is a little hard to follow. Excellent game and the Crazy Powerups make it all the much better

What a tri!!. Vivid colors, hyper music (might try changing it one day), and appropriate sound effects. Got to 67% after two days. Don't think I'll ever get to 100, cause at Easy level 67% is delightful chaos. Not many instructions in the folder's html file. The action is furiously fast, so not much time to think and plan, just react and eventually figure it out. Like the color doesn't spray until the SMALLEST balls are destroyed. Perhaps the WASD keys could be manually reconfigured. This is what points the direction of the gun nozzle Up, Down, Right, Left. Is there a way to determine how much of my playing piece is left? Is there a benefit from running over several stars in quick succession rather than staying with a satisfying bullet spray. Very nice game!!

It's such a colorful game, and such a brilliant idea! The gameplay is rather monotonus, but the graphics more than make up for it. In case you didn't notice, the colors of the blobs are Red Blue and Green. When you have Red Blue and Green light, you get white. Starting with a white background and adding red blue and green to your screen blends your colors together to get the white background.

Its a very fun game with a great arsenal of powerups. It takes strategy beyond simply shooting randomly at all the enemies. The graphics and the effects are very trippy and you can play your own music. As a self proclaimed expert who has managed to make it to a maxumum of 95% this game is impossible to beat even on easy mode, in fact the only difference between modes is the speed at which the enemies start out when they first appear. The game mechanics are not very clear. After a while playing though I have managed to figure them out. Basically every 10% that you fill will create an extra enemy. When the game reaches 50% when you are struck by enemy fire you loose a powerup level, you also loose a powerup level if you are struck by a full sized enemy. At 75% the powerups will begin to explode if you do not collect them. The strategy to doing the best in this game is to completely fill in only the corners first, so only destroy enemies in those areas until they are filled, by then you should be at around 30-40% completion. Furthermore by trailing behind the large enemies you can cause them to curve more sharply (this is aided by destroying more blue enemies, kill them anywhere you like on the screen when you are starting out). Also when starting out avoid destroying too many red enemies near the center of the screen. Make sure to keep your blaster from firing unless destroying a specific enemy in this stage to preserve the fully sized enemies so you can corner them. The optimal control for the game is to use the arrow or asdf keys to point your ship at the enemies and the mouse to move around, using the mouse to rotate your ship makes it difficult to control your position and focus on specific enemies, you will loose a lot faster if you use the mouse to aim.

Would it be better to write an Development Environment for Linux rather than writing Mono for Windows ? Sorry but I don't get the idea of Mono on Windows.

Fantastic. Has done wonderful things in the community. Viva la Open Source as well :) I pity the people who are giving this 1 star ratings due to the fact it uses .NET... get off your high horse and learn something. Ignorance is NOT bliss...

Mono is targetting cross-platformness. So... what needs to be explained here...? Here's an example of a sucessfull large enterprise-grade project that uses Mono: http://medsphere.org/com...y/project/openvista-cis http://medsphere.org/com...ect/openvista-appliance

"Very addictive, fun, and entertaining." Simple to play, but hard to beat. No cons, I like the game.

Not only this is based on patented stuff. (It includes ECMA + other .NET stuff) It's also a replica of something that has it's home on that platform. They are trying to get developers use Windows to write cross platform. To make certain it only/mostly/has the most certainty to work on Windows. Developers, please don't use this .NET/MONO crap. MS can pull the plug any time. Do you research and invest in real cross-platform and free(dom) toolkits, API's, tools. Such as Python, Java, C/C++. Not in .NET clones/wannabe's. Do your research and discover how ugly the area is marked and bordered with .NET. (The flies are you, developers, not the users per se) @elitegangsta Get of your a** and do some trouble for not getting spanked, sued, trapped, abused. There is a reason for those ratings and it's more than high horses. I can assure you.
