Handles large archives with ease and speed, No learning curve. Stops short of the full-blown utilities. The only reason for withholding a 5th star is that IZArc can't do everything, but it does most things extremely well and in some cases better than utilities with pricetags attached. However for a freeware program, it's in a class by itself and is a serious alternative to utilities with a pricetag attached. Large archives are compressed and unzipped with ease, and the user interface is straightforward and should be easily understood even by novices to archiving. This is the 4th or 5th freeware program of its type I've tried, and by far the best to date. Far superior to the Windows zip utility in every respect, and competitive with the big boys.

IZArc is freeware. IZArc is light weight and never crashes. IZARc can handle many formats. But the main feature IZArc has over it's only competitor 7Zip, is that it can REPAIR damaged files !Multi languages. The GUI should be a bit more simple to use, but is still great. It doesn't create world peace aswell ??? IZArc can pack and unpack many different kind of packagers.IZArc can also repair damaged files.IZArc is freeware.IZArc contains NO spyware or any other malware.IZArc does NOT create world peace. lol

It just works. It's fast. I've had no cons so far. I've been using it for over a year. The two top rated free zip / archival programs seem to be iZarc and 7-Zip. I've tried both, and just prefer the look, feel and ease of use with iZarc.

It is very easy to use, creates and opens a good range of files and archives. Encrypting files is easy. Free. It does some things winrar and winzip don't. I've been using it for years without trouble. It can't create winrar files as that is a proprietary format, so you will still need winrar. Best free archiver and better than most of the paid for ones.

Don't know. I downloaded this utility to search through a bunch of .zip archives. I did not use it for anything else, so other than the fact that IZArc is free, I don't have any PROs to share. Not every feature works and the app is prone to hang. (See next section below for full description.) The "search archive" feature (accessed via menu or Ctrl-Alt-F) does not work on Windows 7 x64. The UI for that feature comes up and lets you populate the various text fields, but the Search button does nothing. Also, about half the time, that UI hangs and won't close via the Exit button or the Red X. You have to "end task" the process via Task Manager to get it closed. And it never, ever does the search you ask it to perform.-----------------------------------------------------------------Bottom-Line:---------------Looks good and, according to others, it must work pretty OK. I'm not sure if nobody ever uses the Search Archive feature (hence it never being found as non-functioning) -OR- if it's just something that's broken with this app on 64-bit Windows 7.Too bad...it's a very nice-looking program. I'll be uninstalling it immediately. :(

Good interface and easy to understand. Compressed file with single character password can be extracted by other compression program (e.g. winrar). I'm looking for nice replacement for my WinRAR until I found IZarc. The software is almost perfect but after unexpected test on encrypted option. I learned that my WinRAR can still extract the file successfully IF you have single character password compressed file using IZarc. This is funny since I'm not expecting this result.I have a folder with some PDFs and images. I right click the file and choose IZArc archive file. The option window pop-ups and I only modified the Encryption option to AES-256 bit and retain the other default options. I set the password to letter "x" only then I click Add.I right clicked the compressed file and use my WinRAR extract file...Presto! the folder was extracted successfully.I tried the other Encryption options with single character password and the result is the same. However, this is not the case if you have more than one character password. It works perfectly.I know that I'm not suppose to use single character password but still this is a glitch. The programmer must set this condition on the password field.Hope my review helps for the improvement of this promising program.

This program does everything those paid programs such as winzip and winrar do. And its free. Sometimes getting it to do what you want takes some time. This is one of the best free tools I have used, and I use it a lot.

Best archiving tool out there. Have tried many but nothing came closer with regards to decent UI, loading or processing speeds. Updates to the programs have slowed down over the years but that could be because there is nothing new to add. Thanks to the author.

Fast, easy to set up and use. It is a little slow when opening extremely large files Overall, this is a great product. People swear by WinRar but I have tried both and I really like IZArc best. The only difference I could tell was that WinRar handled extremely large files a bit faster. I'm talking over 200MB files. IZArc has no nag screens, no spy or adware. And you can't beat the price.

-Better interface than 7-zip-Had a function to restore to associate zip with the default windows extractor, when it was uninstalled. -It couldn't see all files of my ISO-file when I extracted it. I downloaded 7-zip too, it worked.-You can't change the associate filetypes once installed. The part of the window where you have to select the wanted associated filetypes remains grey. Probably other archives work well, so I won't give it a bad rating.
