URL Snooper was written to help users locate the urls of audio and video files so that they can be recorded. Many links to streaming audio and video that you come across on the web are hidden behind javascript or activex scripts. Because of this, it is sometimes very difficult to figure out the actual urls that correspond to the streams being played. The goal of is to provide a one-stop easy solution to finding the URLs for all streams. It does this by watching network traffic and identifying potential urls, especially streaming media urls.

"Quite a helpful free program" I used to use a non-free program which was quite good and working till my DSL connection was changed to PPPoE and caused that sniffer to go crashing. So I had to find a replacement for it and thankfully came across this free program. I downloaded it, installed it and ran it to find it having the exact same problem as my previous url sniffer :( But no! it had a general option tab where I could somehow change the settings to a working one and bingo, it started grabbing the urls wiithout crashing \^o^/ My problem with network sniffing was finally solved using this little red doggie program ^^

Do not know any pros about this product as I did not bother to go through long and tricky process of registration in order to get my key for activating this prog. It is clearly written "no limitations", "free" and so on, but in fact it is not that easy. And what I dislike most about this situation is one gets to know that only after process of installation. I installed URL Snooper(+some additions) and then I was asked to insert a key to activate the program. In order to get that key one must go to donationcoder site, register and make one time donation to get so called "free" key. In short, had I known that before downloading this prog I would not even bother to mess up with such "tricky" coders.

"Great, does what its suppose to do." Tons better than URL Helper, because with URL Helper, I have to make it sniff and stop and sniff again over and over before it actually gets wind of the internet trail...so to speak. AND ITS FREE...unlike you know. The fact that you have to go File>Advanced Mode on first install to actually use the program makes it a little bit harder for beginners to use, that should just be activated by default in my opinion. Since its only really usable when thats on. Does what you need it to do and is free, works with vista, so im happy. cheers! If you guys are looking for a youtube sniffer, go look somewhere else, this isn't one.
