"Awesome Product A must have for any hardcore programmer" Great product, great for programming. I especially love the color coding. It helped me learn to program a lot faster. If I were them, I would put a tutorial section in it somewhere, but they are easy to find on youtube A must have for any programmer

"Straight forward advanced text editing" Recognises and displays markup tags, folds elements, making editing easier to view and edit without messing about with the markup. Some issues selecting text in markup

"Great programmers tool" Context highlighting for many languages (including add your own), coding is easy. Add ons available, right-click option added to Explorer Not an auto-replace for Notepad, but not a deal-breaker, since edit is on right-click menu (plus you can make the change yourself, if it is that important to you). Bottom lime is get it! Always free and Open source.

"Great all-around; lightweight and feature rich." I guess there's no "autoreplace," but you can manually do it with a package show on the download page, 4th link down.Syntax highlighting. Use it for web design and programming or anything usual. You have to modify your registry and copy files around manually to replace notepad. http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/download.php

"Great Notepad Replacement" Offers tons of useful features, yet remains lightweight and very stable. None for me. This is a very useful program that I use frequently on a daily basis. I've completely replaced Windows Notepad with no need to go back.

"NOTEPAD SHOULD BE LIKE THIS" Fast, simple interface and it, works with most computer languages. It can also be used as replacement for the Windows Notepad. Compares text files. The only con that I see is that it doesn't have a debugging tool built in. But hey. If it had, it would replace all code editing programs out there, except for those that deals with visual design. It's the best simple text editor out there. Unless you need a visual design tool, this is by far the best.

"I like the color printout." The support of multiple Languages is very useful, but single value editing & creation of User Defined Languages could be improved. Finding the correct Language is difficult, some sort of help would help. Also, singlr value editing & Language Structure display option would help. Very Good as FREE programs go!

"A Great Notepad.exe Replacement" This is one of the first programs I install on every computer.Tabs, shortcuts, macro-recording and playback abilities, this program is feature-rich and something I use everyday. Cannot seem to save .htaccess files without getting incorrect spacing in the final files. Spectacular download and it is free.

Easily customizable interface Menus can be a bit cryptic at times

SO MANY OPTIONS including find/replace across multiple files at once and opening so many files I've yet to push the limit and I've opened 85 once. It won't rename multiple files at once, but that's not bad, I'm just spoiled :D I've used this thing for 2 & 1/2 years and I'm still pinching myself unbelieving that it's free, it's got so many things and it makes my 3D script editing so much faster and smoother. What would've taken me 5 hours on one project took me 2 minutes using Notepad++!!! I'll never change!
