JAlbum 8.8

JAlbum by Datadosen.se Screenshot JAlbum Screenshot

JAlbum makes web albums of your digital images. No extra software is needed to view the albums, just your web browser. Unlike "server side" album scripts, the albums can be served from a plain web server without scripting support. You can also share your albums on CD-ROM.

"Finally, a hip and easy online photo gallery" Many netizens don't want to resort to handing their private pictures to Picasa, Flickr, or Facebook. Jalbum isn't entirely open source, but it comes pretty close in terms of making it streamlined, powerful, and easy to use for web novices. Needs more hype to get critical mass popularity to survive. Great. It's only going to get better.

the easy of use, the skins it's not workable if you have large collections, if your pictures are high quality it makes the app run super slow the product design is very nice, i would love to see some speed improvements, in its current form, it's only usable if you have 10 pictures or so, i have a souped up Dell M2010 tell laptop with 4 Gig RAM, Dual Core 2.2G and the software performance to manage my albums is ubareable

No Spry, no Flash, no Javascript - it totally validates in CSS and HTML, like the rest of my CSS-based web site For a great-looking image gallery, this is the best of all possible worlds I found it difficult to get it to work with Dreamwever - until I found where the html files were hidden (my fault really - I didn't look closely enough at what was happening - it did actually say where they were stored). I'm neither a web designer nor a newbie but I've beavered away on my own (commercial) web site with frames and tables and, lately CSS. I've searched at length for a web image gallery that was both versatile and looked really good and - like every page of my web site - validated in CSS and XHTML. And at last I find Jalbum. Brilliant. I was frustrated at first because I use Dreamweaver and I couldn't cope with Jalbum's "***" files. So I went to good old Google and discovered "martinshelpdesk.com" which told me where to find the html files that I could copy to Dreamwever and upload to my web site. If I have one teeny criticism, it might be the lack of a listing facility to show all the available albums on the first (and, indeed, every) page of the gallery. But it's easy enough to get around that by doing a cover page with a thumbnail to every gallery page and a link to each. I love it. Regards, Ann Hood.

"Great Program" This is probably the best program out there that allows you to create a photo gallery online. You have the ability to upload your site to your own personal web space (outside of what they give you), the best part it does all the work for you. None that I can think of

"Looks cool, not for me." Seems cool to use, and the features are nice, Im simply not interested in having my pictures upload to their servers. If you dont mind having your pictures uploaded to the program developer's website then I guess its s cool program.

"Not a Web Developers Tool" A simple, novice level, online photo album tool. Requires you to load your photos to their site and send your users there to view your album. This is just another type of flickr

"This program is Superb. Especitally for personal sites!" Not sure why all these ignorant idiots ragg on the program because you "have to upload to the developers site". This is not true. If you have a web server, FTP, or host you can upload to your own server. I have created many many albums with this... continues from pros... app and have NEVER loaded a single picture to the jalbum site. Program is good, but certain skins require you to purchase aspects of them.

"Nice little program." It has been easy to install. Nice layout. I am still learning the ins and out. Have not run into any problems. Still learning the program but do like the layouts. Very nice. Thanks.

No spyware, adds, or anything.. just one powerhouse for webmasters ! (and free)1. Creates all thumbnails, and index file, from existing folder o you HD2. BUILT IN FTP Client, allows you to upload your entire "album" to your site WITH index file ! NONE -- these guys deserve the 5 star award !!! Installed on Vista flawlessly, FTP client even re-connected, and finished upload, when interrupted. This is software is like a web masters dream--only real ! All I can say is the people who created this program..... my hat is tipped to you !!!.... nice work !... and offering it for free, is like triple icing on the cake.I have been a web master for many years, and this is by far the best photo gallery generator I have ever used.

Makes very nice looking albums in a very simple way. Overall, probably one of the best freeware album making packages available. Doesn't handle directories well at all. The origin, output, and directories are mixed up in some weird dance of directories, forcing them to be in three different locations, and yet unmovable once the album is created. A good album creation program if you like to keep your pictures in one set of directories (and never move them), you like to keep your album definitions in one set of directories (and never move them), and you like to publish through the jalbum web site, or some other web site, rather than using the albums created by directly transferring them someplace through ftp.

Jalbum has been great from the beginning and just keeps getting better None. I have never had Jalbum hang or do anything wierd..... Jalbum is the best album creator I have ever used. Makes my photo collection look very professional with no effort on my part.

Easy to create a web photo album from your pictures and upload it to your Jalbum account. Not so easy to initally create web album for your own website but once established can be updated easily. My overall experience was a very positive one.

Easy to use, moderately flexible, well organized, sophisticated uses. No cons. Works great. Awesome product, makes publishing photos on your website easy.

Ease of use, variety of formats, ease of publishing, ease of making changes, excellent presentation ("look"), FREE. It's sometimes difficult to tell what a certain "skin" will do until you build an album.
