TeraCopy 2.12

TeraCopy by Code Sector Inc. Screenshot TeraCopy Screenshot

TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features. It uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Pause and resume file transfers. In case of copy error, it will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer. It can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.

Quick to installQuick to transfer filesEasy to install - not too large a fileEasy to use (after reading help file online)Tip - use the command prompt to copy/move/test large data sets No help on super-simple interfaceFor those who can't get it to work on Win7 - read the specs! " Operating system: Windows 98/XP/Vista" . Hopefully they are working on a Win7 version soon. A terrific little tool that saves a bucketload of time in transferring files compared to Windows utility. Thanks to the developer/s for making this available - check out their other tools, too.

FAST! Copied 26GB of data in 13 minutes compared to almost an hour with Windows. Interface takes some getting used to. Still not sure how to add files for a move/copy without going through the explorer context menu. Bottom line is that it's FAST! Which is exactly what I was looking for. It will move a single large file a little faster (barely worth the extra click unless it's 3GB+), smaller files are TONS faster.

Seamless, you don't have to start another program it does it all by itself whenever you go to copy a file. Maybe there was a readme file that I didn't read but it took me a while to figure out what the program was doing. I kept trying to look up files to copy not realizing that once the software is registered it just works.

One of only a handful of tools that allows for selective overwrites by date. With its non-stop and transparent operation it is ideal for bulk file transfers, partition file-by-file backups to anywhere, and anything else really. Haven't found any yet after a month of hard use. An absolutely excellent and well-thought-out tool - and its free!

I cant find what this application does that any good file commander like Total Commander or Speedcommander would not do as well or better.

Completely satisfy the expectations for such a piece of software. And, of course, outmatches significantly default xp file manager's similar functions. Sorry, nothing

Faster than a speeding bullet. When I copied large amouts of movie files from an external drive, most of them was unwatchable (was fine with windows default copy handler). I think its ok for every other files but the movie files.

It's very fast and easy to use. The ability to pause a copy is very nice. I haven't found any specific negatives.
