Does the duplicate process "on the fly", meaning there's no need for a 3rd drive in which to store the data first before transferring it to the new disk. Also, can copy the WHOLE drive, not just a partition. A bootable USB alternative would have been nice. The disk is read constantly through the whole process, and since it's long, it's probably not too healthy for your CD drive. Also, it's loud, you don't want to be in the same room if you plan to sleep. The HD that came with my laptop was showing signs of imminent failure including massive slowdowns and warning messages on the built-in diagnostic tools. Before it died off completely, I bought a new HD, hooked it through USB, booted Disk Copy, went to sleep, and next morning I woke up with a 1:1 duplicate of my data, except on a much healthier HD. I switched the drives right away, turned on the laptop, and it booted into Windows, much faster than before and keeping everything exactly the way it was the day before, saving me the hassle of going through a full re-installation.There's probably a hundred methods and software that can be used to achieve what I did, but Disk Copy was the only one I could find that combines both points I listed on the pros, which was a necessity for me because I lacked a 3rd HD and I wanted to keep the factory-default partitions that came with the original HD for recovery tools and such.Disk Copy it's not perfect though, it's pretty limited, so it might not fit more complex backup needs. In fact, I wouldn't use it for backups at all, but I personally recommend it to anyone switching primary drives, either because of malfunction or upgrading. Also, it must be noted the replacement HD was same size as the original, merely because I happened to find one for cheap and didn't need much more space on this machine, but from what I've heard, bigger drives should still not be an issue other than having to use a separate method to allocate all that unused space to a new or existing partition.

The program did exactly what it is supposed to do! It was difficult to download, but once I got it on a DVD, no problem. I bought a new bigger hard drive for the laptop. Tried to clone the old disk with Western Digital software, but it could not. Downloaded Easeus and it cloned the old drive into the new drive in a jiffy.

Works well, and easily. Free. None yet found, nor expected.

Did exacty what it was supposed to do. Not really a con, but low on features. Hey, it's free and it works. I'm surprised others complained about speed. I found the copying to be lightning fast, very close to the maximum possible bus speed. Be aware, it copies the entire disk, including the empty space, byte by byte. That can take a long time, but that's exactly what this program is supposed to do. I used it to make an exact copy of a failing Tivo hard drive. It didn't seem to recognize the Tivo disk's partitions, but since I did an exact copy of the entire drive, that didn't matter. the results were completely successful. It even handled many bad sectors on the source drive without a hiccup, reporting the errors along the way. You can set it to stop at each error, or simply report when done. For faster copying of PATA drives, put each drive on its own cable.

It worked and the new hard drive is partitioned correctly A little confusing on cloning, but part of that may have been my computer.

fast copying, when booted from usb flashdrive. I used this with UNETBootin to make a bootable usb flasdrive. Nothing. But can't resized partition. Try this in a bootable usb flashdrive, pendrive. just used unetbootin to make it bootable.

Perfectly copied three disks without a hitch. Simple, intuitive interface that even the inexperienced will find a breeze. Burn it to CD/DVD, boot it, done. Does as well, if not better, than some of the more popular paid-for products.I love it! Very slow transfer rate, but if you need to copy on the cheap...What's the hurry? Great product, fantastic support, reliable if a little slow and you can't beat the price!

No complex menus and options. Does exactly what it "said on the tin" Had to replace my hard disk. Used this to make exact copy of old disk while it was still "sort of" running. Download is an ISO file to burn to CD. Problem was my disks are SATA, and motherboard only had 2 SATA connectors. Had to burn the ISO to usb! Use it if you need to copy a disk.

It beats Norton's Ghost and other High price softwares out on the market. Best of all-it's totally free. It's little bit slow. It took 2 & half hour to clone a 90GIG hard disk. But, not a complaint for the slow copying because I think the software copies sector by sector to make sure it boots up right. Do not bother to try to use Norton's Ghost 15, because I donwloaned the Ghost 15 and installed it on my PC, and my PC crashed after the installation. ANd I also tried some others out on Cnet's download site, none of them worked. But, the Easeus Disk Copy worked fine and no problems after installed and cloned another hard disk, it boots up just like a charm, all programs, files, photos, videos and of course Windows kept intact. BUY THE EASEUS DISK COPY, IT'S WELL WORTH IT. BUT, DO NOT BOTHER WASTE YOUR TIME, NOT MENTIONING WASTED YOUR MONEY FOR NORTON' GHOST 15. NORTON'S SOFTWARE HAS A LONG HISTORY OF NOTHING, BUT PTOBLEMS AFTER ANOTHER. IT'S GOOD NOW THAT NORTON LET'S YOU UNINSTALL A PROGRAM. IT USED TO BE ONCE YOU INSTALL A NORTON'S PROGRAM, NO ONE IN THE WORLD CAN UNINSTALL NORTON'S PROGRAM.

Simple, free cloning application Slow, picky about matching the source and target disks Works well for free software

Simple interface for this free application. Minimal system resource usage. SLOOOOOW! Took nearly 4 hours to clone a 500 gig 7200 rpm sata drive Set it up, walk away functionality with a simple interface. Nice looking, clean design but could use a bit of turbo power for larger drives. Works well for small and intermediate drives up to about 250

1. Sucessfully cloned a hard drive where five attempts with Acronis did not work. 2. Great user interface. Trivial but Easeus Partition Magic is a seperate product where I could have done what I wanted with just one package with Acronis.
