Visual CD will catalog data CDs, floppy disks, hard drives, and folders. You can then explore the catalogs, search files and folders, create MP3 playlist without having the physical disks in the drive. Upon insertion of the corresponding disk, you can open files, split files into smaller pieces, extract ZIP, RAR and CAB archive, and more.

The best cataloging program I've tried, it put in shame other organization tools including Locate. Visual CD 4.0 is out, you can see the full list of features and changelog here.

"A good product ti catalogu your cd, dvd, hard disks." Good interface, easy to use and intuitive, may be done portable with some intervention. Has favorites and search functionality. Maybe more compact (zipped?) archives would be good.

It can generate a directory list It doesn't do it very well My goals were to be able to print a track list onto a CD without having to retype the list, and to make a directory listing of my audio books to swap with other people. By the time I jump through all the hoops (like export to excel .csv file for reformatting) The shorter list are quicker to just retype, and the longer list requires writing macros in excel to handle all the all the formatting required. I'll keep looking. I tested no other functions of this program but it did load easy and caused no problems.
