AIMP 2.60.551

AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you'll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player's main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it's easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player's functionalities.

First and foremost, to the user below me, you can disable the splash screen from starting up, so AIMP starts faster. Hope that helps. As for me, I got the update from the previous build. I'm finding that it gets better and better with each version and now my DSP plugins are working great with this. It already sounds great, but I added DFX for an added boost. Even without DFX, AIMP sounds way better than Winamp, Foobar, MediaMonkey, iTunes or Windows Media Player 12, and I have tried them all before, foolishly. I think more people should check this out, because I think it's a lot better than some people give it credit for. I would love to see a lot of nice looking skins designed for AIMP3, but that's just minor. Technically, I find no flaws with this, and it does what it's supposed to do, and very well. AIMP is one of those well-kept software secrets that many people still don't know about. Maybe it's best that way.

Very nice player! However it does not let you pause Live Streaming internet radio like Winamp can. Also I find it a little slow in starting up mainly because of the plugins splash screen that always shows at the begining of starting the player. Other then those 2 things I like this media player a lot. It seems very light weight which is great! Another thing that is kind of sad is the AIMP Forum is not in English. But for now at least my favorite media player is still Winamp.

My favourite player. Some nice skins around but beware some are malicious.

Ok, as I was saying before, on my XP, when I use those beta versions, I get a high CPU usage (35-50%) as long as I keep the play list visible; if I minimize the player or if I hide the playlist, it works fine. Please fix this!
