FlashGet is specifically designed to address two of the biggest problems when downloading files: Speed and management of downloaded files. If you've ever waited forever for your files to download from a slow connection, or been cut off mid-way through a download or just can't keep track of your ever-growing downloads then it is for you. It can split downloaded files into sections, downloading each section simultaneously, for an increase in downloading speed from 100% to 500%. This, coupled with its powerful and easy-to-use management features, helps you take control of your downloads like never before.

Can have it download many films even over night automatically. Can restart anyu download and it keeps track of those successfully received. And lots of other goodies. I have none. What would have taken me a week of downloading, was done in a few days of unattended file downloads using this software. What's not to like?

High download speeds, simple GUI. Can resume download if u are disconnected, a common problem for those using IE download manager which asks u to download all over again if connection is reset!! Recommended links/pages that appear on right side cause script errors. The links may also be rogue!

Nothing that I can think of It doesn't work in Windows 7. I tried using it in Firefox and Avant browsers, but it doesn't download You Tube videos at all. I'm not sure if it's just not compatible with Windows 7 or not, but it certainly did not work for me. I can't seem to find a download manager that DOES work. Orbit Downloader used to work about a year or so ago, but that doesn't work in XP or Windows 7. What gives?

It was free Confusing to use. Inserts in clipboard operation, browser, startup, etc, and still didn't work. I kept putting the download link into it, and it would download a 115kb pointer, but right click "save target file" in my browser got the full 1GB file. Needs simple mode, needs to work.

FlashGet is almost as good as Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) when it comes to managing my downloads. I can schedule downloads to begin when I want, and do everything that DAP could. Unfortunately, FlashGet apparently doesn't like Firefox. When I try to download a file using Firefox, FlashGet seems to just ignore the fact, and Firefox maintains control over the download, which isn't what I want. If for some reason you're still using Internet Explorer, I would definitely recommend either FlashGet or Download Accelerator Plus (DAP). But for those of you who are using Firefox, FlashGet is not for you.
